Lisa Barrieau Featured on PMMI's Emerging Leaders Voices

March 3, 2021 - Lisa Barrieau shares her story with PMMI's Emerging Leader Voices and Woman's Leadership Network. Her article, Ballet to Business, dives into her personal journey as a professional ballet dancer for 6 years and how it led to her current role as Felins' Banding Sales Manager for the food industry. "Finding one’s career path is never as typical or straight forward as it may seem and I am always quite fascinated to see how people find themselves working in certain positions and industries," says Lisa, as she reflects on how her years in ballet resulted in the acquisition of many skills that eventually carried over into the world of business and sales in the packaging industry, "Believe it or not, there are a lot of similarities between the performing arts and the packaging industry."

Barrieau's story comes full circle as this year she celebrates more than 6 years with Felins. In those years, she has worked with many popular brands in the food industry including Tyson, Smithfield, NomNomNow, and Jack Links. She also launched her own YouTube series called Felins Foodie, to help educate her customers on product line inefficiencies and their solutions as well as promoting sustainability in the packaging industry. Her hard work and dedication was rewarded in the form of the coveted PMMI On the Rise Award with the Emerging Leaders Network. Barrieau was recognized for her achievements during the 2018 PMMI Pack Expo on November 12 in Tampa, Florida. Despite having accomplished so much thus far, Lisa feels her work isn't done, "I greatly look forward to seeing how the world of packaging continues to grow and evolve in our ever-changing world and I encourage others to consider a career in this exciting and essential industry."
